Busy Vancouver restaurant robbed at gunpoint during brunch service

Patrons and staff at Cafe du Soleil were robbed up at gunpoint during brunch on Sunday. VPD investigates.

Over a dozen staff and customers at Cafe du Soleil were involved in a scary takeover robbery during brunch on Sunday morning (Nov. 20).

Two armed men entered the restaurant on Commercial Drive and aimed their weapons at the people inside, ordering them to hand over their valuables, before fleeing in a vehicle, according to police.

Vancouver Police are investigating the robbery and say that the individuals inside were left traumatized and one victim sustained minor injuries.

The gunmen wore hats, hoodies, and gloves to hide their identities.

Vancouver Is Awesome has reached out to the restaurant for comment and will update this story if and when more information becomes available.

Cafe du Soleil remains open and is serving customers today.
