Two Transit Police officers are in isolation after a suspect intentionally coughed on them during arrest.

A suspect was being sought for threatening people with a knife around the New Westminster SkyTrain station on Saturday.

“Subject starts intentionally coughing and spitting at officers,” said a tweet by Transit Police chief officer Dave Jones. “This job is tough enough without this.”

Transit Police say a court order is being sought to have the suspect test for COVID-19.
