The Vancouver weather forecast calls for a decidedly dreary weekend following this week's sunny stretch.

Starting on Friday, June 19, Environment Canada calls for a mix of sun and cloud with increasing cloudiness into the afternoon and a high of 20°C except 24°C inland. There's a 60 percent chance of showers overnight.

Saturday is expected to see periods of rain during the day while Saturday night's forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of showers. Sunday's forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of showers during the day and cloudy periods overnight.

On Monday, the forecast calls for bright sunshine and a high of 23°C. However, Tuesday's forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of showers and cloudy periods at night. 

Wednesday and Thursday are expected to see a mix of sun a cloud with highs of 24°C and 23°C, respectively.

The Weather Network has released its official 2020 summer forecast for Canada, which covers the next three months of weather across the country.

The company highlights an "abundance of warm weather across most of Canada," after many Canadians saw record-breaking temperatures during the month of May. However, the summer months are not expected to include "relentless heat" for most of the country.
