While the Lower Mainland saw some sunny breaks over the weekend, this week's Metro Vancouver forecast calls for a mix of showers, rain and even some thunderstorms.

Starting on Monday, April 27, Environment Canada calls for a mix of sun and cloud this morning with a 30 percent chance of showers late this morning and this afternoon with a high of 14°C. In addition, the weather agency calls for a risk of thunderstorms late this morning and this afternoon. The  evening is expected to be partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers.

On Tuesday, the forecast calls for rain all day and night with a high of 13°C and a low of 10°C. Similarly, Wednesday is expected to see a 60 percent chance of showers all day long with a high of 13°C and low of 9°C. However, Thursday, the final day of the month, is expected to offer a respite from the gloomy weather with sunshine during the day and a high of 16°C. With this in mind, the clear skies will drop the overnight low down to a brisk 6°C.

On Friday, May 1, the forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud during the day with a high of 17°C, but the nighttime forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of showers and a low of 9°C. The wet weather is expected to continue through the weekend, with both Saturday and Sunday's forecasts calling for a 60 percent chance of showers with highs of 16°C and 14°C respectively.
