Locals looking for a sunny weekend will have to hop on a plane...probably.
While precipitation forecasts don't always pan out, this weekend doesn't look like it will include any bluebird skies. Instead, Environment Canada calls for a chance of showers throughout most of the weekend, although it isn't calling for any torrential downpours.
Starting on Friday, May 5, locals may want to keep a small umbrella handy, as there is a 60 per cent chance of wet weather throughout the day. Saturday's forecast includes more opportunities for showers.
And while Sunday may also be a little bit wet, the forecast includes cloudy but dry periods overnight. There may also be a chance to view the northern lights at this time.
Sunny weather is expected to make a comeback next week, with Monday expected to see a mix of sun and cloud during the day and a high of 15 C. Similar weather is expected Tuesday, with a slightly milder high of 16 C.
Starting mid-week, Wednesday is expected to see temperatures climb up to 19 C.
