VPD seizes guns and machete from 17-year-old boy in Vancouver

Police have charged a teenager with possession of a firearm after finding a cache of weapons, ammunition, body armour, and drugs.

Vancouver police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a large cache of loaded guns, machetes, and drugs inside an SRO.

VPD working in the Downtown Eastside responded to a call of a person entering a residence inside the Grand Union rooming house over the weekend. When they arrived they were met by a 17-year-old boy holding a loaded gun.

The teenager was arrested and five additional guns were seized, including a .357 Magnum and two revolvers, all loaded. Police also found body armour, machetes, ammunition, fake guns, and a stash of drugs.

The unidentified minor boy has been charged with possession of a firearm.
