Environment Canada issued a weather alert for Metro Vancouver on Nov. 26, expecting strong winds to sweep over the region in the evening.

Strong winds are expected to blow through Metro Vancouver on Saturday (Nov. 26).

Environment Canada issued a weather alert for the region, anticipating strong gusts of wind up to 70 or 80 km/h tonight.

The weather alert comes just several weeks after a stronger wind storm blasted through the province, toppling over 400 trees in Vancouver alone, and caused numerous power outages throughout the region.

The weather authority foresees "an intense Pacific cold front will sweep across the south coast tonight," says the weather alert. "The winds are strong enough to cause some power outages over the region."

The strongest winds reaching up to 80 kmk/h are anticipated to take place near the water and near Hope, and will ease overnight.
