"We've started to flatten our curve," said Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry during Monday's news conference, after announcing 358 new COVID-19 diagnoses in the province this past weekend.

This comes with the announcement of four more deaths this weekend in British Columbia from the novel coronavirus – a disease which has no vaccine or cure.

Three of the deaths were from the Fraser Health region, one occurred in Vancouver Coastal Health.

New totals amount to 3,580 novel coronavirus cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 4,980 in Fraser Health, 220 on Vancouver Island, 548 in Interior Health, and 322 in the Northern Health region.

As for active cases, 1,353 people are currently battling the disease, and roughly 83 per cent of all those who have had COVID-19 in B.C. are in recovery.

Current hospitalizations account for 66 of those people, of whom 16 are in intensive care.

The remaining people with COVID-19 are recovering at home in self-isolation.

Healthcare workers with the disease have been connected to three new healthcare outbreaks in B.C., Henry said.

The doctor also announced one new community outbreak in the province.

A total of 242 people have died in the province as a result of COVID-19.
