Team Fireworks FX gets to add a new award to their trophy case.
Actually, they can add two.
The team representing Nova Scotia at the 2025 Celebration of Light in Vancouver won both the people's choice and judged competition awards.
"Their tightly choreographed performance captivated the audience, standing out even amidst the fierce competition from Team Yukon and Team Quebec," reads an Instagram post from the Celebration of Light.
The team from the Maritimes performed on Saturday, July 26, the last night of this year's fireworks festival.
The group has been sending up fireworks for over 40 years, and also has operations in Barbados. It regularly takes part in international competitions, from the Caribbean to Japan to Turkmenistan.
"The time has come for a heartfelt shout out to this crew that laboured for days to make our show possible, to Kelly Guille and the ultra professional and dedicated team of pyrotechnicians from Archangel Fireworks," reads a post from Fireworks FX on Facebook.
This year's competition marked a departure from the usual Celebration of Light, as an all-Canadian slate competed.
