GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — Recently retired U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi of Wyoming has died. He was 77 years old. Enzi died peacefully Monday surrounded by family and friends, former Enzi spokesman Max D’Onofrio said.

TOKYO — Canada has defeated Mexico 3-2 to win the bronze medal in softball at the Tokyo Olympics. It's the first medal for the Canadian team in the history of Olympic softball, which was dropped from the Games along with baseball in 2012 and 2016.

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Jets have added defenceman Brenden Dillon to their squad. The Jets acquired the 30-year-old blueliner from the Washington Capitals on Monday in exchange for two second-round draft picks, one in 2022 and another in 2023.

WINNIPEG — Forward Paul Stastny is staying with the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets announced on Monday that they have agreed to a one-year, US$3.75 million deal with Stastny, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

MONTREAL — Veteran American receiver Naaman Roosevelt was among 15 players released Monday by the Montreal Alouettes. Roosevelt, 33, had 77 catches for 946 yards and a TD in 2019 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
