Bob Kronbauer: Vancouver desperately needs an Arby's

We need the meats

There are currently no Arby's franchises located in the City of Vancouver proper, however there are a couple out in the suburbs

Friends, enemies, lovers of fast food roast beef sandwiches made with sweaty sesame seed buns, it's time we all came together during a very difficult time.

It's been what feels like decades since the last Arby's franchise located in the City of Vancouver shut its doors, and some of us have been crying Horsey Sauce tears ever since.

Sure, there's an Arby's in Tsawwassen, and there's an Arby's in Aldergove, but is there one for those of us who crave relatively inexpensive, shaved meat sandwiches during our lunch breaks in downtown Vancouver or Mount Pleasant? Or anywhere in the city proper?

Sadly, the answer to this rhetorical question is no. Should we crave a quick lunch we're collectively forced to choose between pizza slices or fast-food hamburgers.

I won't speak ill of the fine people of Kelowna, but is it at all fair that they have two Arby's locations to choose between: one on Harvey Avenue near The Sandman and the other just over the bridge and up the hill in Westbank?

I say no. It's time for us to rise up and tell the powers that be how we feel about the unfair distribution of Arby's franchises in British Columbia.

Vancouver desperately needs an Arby's.
