Holy technology! Remember the CYCLING VANCOUVER THING that calculates the biking routes with the least pollution etc? And CANPAGES STREETVIEW MAPS? Well, Metro Vancouver has stepped up to the plate and introduced an online tool that'll help you find a place to recycle... well... pretty much anything. It's designed to help you answer the question “Where do I take this?”. See below for an example of me checking to find places to recycle motor oil within a 10 km radius of my office. There's a ton of different categories of things to be recycled from tires to batteries to furniture to the more traditional stuff like cardboard. The database contains over 1,300 locations within the Metro Vancouver region to donate, recycle or appropriately dispose of items you no longer want. This is an awesome tool!
