Photos: This Gulf Island winery and 'lifestyle retreat' just had its price cut

The residence, winery and glamping location now costs less than a standalone home in Vancouver

If city life is getting to be too much, escaping to an island home with a vineyard surrounded by lush forest might seem like a far-fetched dream.

But, for slightly less than a benchmark single-family home in the city of Vancouver, there's a place on the market right now.

Hornby Heart Vineyard is currently on the real estate market if a change of occupation and location is needed. It's listed for just under $2.5 million. Earlier this year it was listed for just under $3 million; $500,000 was dropped from the cost earlier this month.

In a listing, the property is called a "boutique vineyard estate and lifestyle retreat."

Located on Hornby Island, which is about 100 km from Vancouver near the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, the winery and residence are on a 10-acre property.

"Hornby Heart offers a 10-acre turnkey opportunity combining a vineyard, glamping, and culinary venue," reads the listing. "The property features 4 acres of mature vines, along with a small-batch winery, tasting room, production facility & picnic license."

There's an event space, including a restaurant, which can be used for hosting weddings. There's a bar and pizza oven in the restaurant space, along with a commercial kitchen nearby.

There's also a separate wine-tasting room with retail space.

And, along with the winery, there's an accommodation aspect, with nine furnished glamping tents set up, and a little cabin.

On top of that, there's also the gazebo, which sits in the middle of a pond.

And, of course, there's a residence with three bedrooms.
