In news that is sure to be music to countless fans’ years, the 47th annual Vancouver Folk Musical Festival (VFMF) is on the books and on its way to being the best weekend of your summer! From July 19 to 21 at the gorgeous ʔəy̓alməxʷ Jericho Beach Park, fans can anticipate an exciting, eclectic and engaging lineup of folk, world and roots music from around the globe.
With its winning combination of awesome artists and a vibrant venue, the weekend is sure to strike a chord with loyal attendees and new audiences alike, promising good times, brilliant tunes and fabulous summer vibes.
A magical, musical weekend event in Vancouver
This year’s Vancouver Folk Music Festival presents over 40 musical acts from 15 countries, nine U.S. states and six provinces and territories, offering something for everyone as well as a captivating collection of new artists, voices and stories to discover and enjoy.
Whether attending for the whole weekend or just one day, you’re invited to immerse yourself in the special festival magic that will entice and engage in the best possible way.
Notable acts include The Milk Carton Kids, 47Soul, Moontricks, James Vincent McMorrow, Highway 61 Reimagined, Dobet Gnahoré and Māmā Mihirangi & The Māreikura to name just a few.
In addition to the marvelous music, folks can sample delicious food from a wide range of vendors in Pete's Eats outdoor food court, browse the wares in the fabulous Artisan Market and enjoy beverages from Parallel 49, Hester Creek Winery and Liber Estates. A full list of vendors will be announced well before the festival. The park will also offer water refill stations, so be sure to bring your refillable bottle to stay hydrated!
Offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the festival has become a Canadian cultural institution, serving as one of Vancouver’s most beloved, respected and anticipated events. Possessing a passionately loyal fanbase over almost 50 years, VFMF attracts tens of thousands of enthusiastic attendees every year, and invites newcomers to join those happy crowds.
