In the midst of the pandemic, Caroline Mundell made the bold decision to invest in and grow Function Health Club’s presence in Metro Vancouver.
As the owner and founder of Function Health Club, Mundell firmly believed that with hard work and focus, she could lead her team and her company to come out of this pandemic in a better place.
Throughout the pandemic, we’ve seen firsthand how a lack of physical activity and loss of connection with people has had a tremendous impact on health and wellbeing.
Knowing that, Mundell was determined to see this fitness community she and her team had cultivated over the past decade continue to prosper, despite all of the changes in the health and fitness space.
For Mundell, that also included furthering Function Health Club’s physical gym presence.

In addition to their current location by Fremont Village in Port Coquitlam, Function Health Club has relocated their former Vancouver studio to a brand new upgraded facility in Downtown Vancouver, where they have streamlined and expanded their offerings in an inclusive community environment.
The mother of three children, Mundell competes as an Olympic Weightlifter and she is currently the gold medal holder both provincially and nationally, holding records in multiple age and weight categories. With her experience as a professional athlete and years of experience in running Function Health Club, Mundell was confident that in-person fitness would make a strong comeback and evolution as the desire for fitness communities grew.

Function Health Club is a health and wellness facility that specializes in helping people build a foundation of good health and fitness practices. Their community consists of people of all ages and fitness backgrounds — supporting everyone from those brand new to fitness, teens and families, and all the way to competitive athletes and Olympic weightlifters.
Their programs and services, which include in-person functional fitness classes and ‘Function Anywhere’ online offerings, personal training, nutrition coaching, weightlifting, and sports performance training, are coaching-based (instructed by award-winning coaches) and designed to support the varying needs of the Functional Fitness community.
Through their various offerings, Function Health Club creates that fun and motivating sense of community where people can walk into a safe and clean environment, or connect virtually, and receive the support they need for their health and fitness during and beyond the pandemic.

For those new to the world of functional fitness, this form of exercise represents the next evolution in fitness science with high intensity workouts to improve upon your core strength, conditioning, stability, and mobility to achieve your fitness and health goals.
Instead of simply working on individual muscles, this fitness method is designed to help you train your muscles through movements you do every day at home, at work, and beyond — such as carrying objects, lifting, and squatting.
Mundell, along with the rest of the Function Health Club team, are excited to welcome new members into the new gym and help even more people achieve their health and wellness goals.
In honour of the grand opening of their relocated downtown studio, Function Health Club is hosting an Open House on October 23rd from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
During the event, they’ll be hosting 30 minute workouts twice an hour with prize giveaways for all participants. There will also be door prizes, “day of” special offers, and of course, free snacks!
