When the pandemic hit in March, Vancouver-based custom athletic teamwear makers Oddball Workshop pivoted over to producing reusable face masks as a project to keep their workshop busy and to meet the demand for quality, locally-produced face coverings.
To ensure their reusable face masks are effective, they’ve sent in their 3-layer masks to the Nelson Labs to get tested, and their masks have been tested at 96% effectiveness at bacterial/droplet filtration.
As a one-stop shop for customized gear and sublimated performance apparel — where everything is made right here in the city — Oddball Workshop is committed to supporting the local economy.
For their 3-layer face masks, Oddball purchases 95% of their materials and supplies from Vancouver-based suppliers, putting money right back into the local economy.
Even more, Oddball is all about being an active contributor to local community programs, with partial proceeds from all mask sales going to the Vancouver Food Bank, and their special series mask sales going to local non-profit organizations.
They’ve partnered up with local groups Dragonboat BC and Firetruck Dragon Boat, with proceeds of mask sales from their special Dragon Boat Club Series and Firetruck Team Series benefitting the Vancouver Food Bank, BC Cancer Foundation, and other local non-profit organizations.
Masks from their Canadian Artist Series highlight the work of Canadian artists, and the proceeds from the Artist Series directly support the artists themselves.
So far, over $10,000 has been donated to various local organizations and artists.
