Pinkies up, because tea time has arrived on the menu!

Tea lovers are cordially invited to join High Tea at Palate Kitchen — the contemporary cafe and restaurant by the local favourite Pallet Coffee Roasters — on West Hastings.

During seatings at 2 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. on weekends this fall, you and up to five guests can come experience afternoon high tea at Palate. Or, you can also enjoy Palate Kitchen’s regular brunch and lunch menus instead of or in addition to high tea.

High tea guests can choose from the wide selection of delicious biscuits, savoury sandwiches, and decadent sweets on the afternoon high tea menu — all of which are perfectly paired with Pallet’s specialty coffee or teas.

Some of the delightful treats on the high tea menu include:

  • British scones served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.

  • Sweet selections such as macarons, chocolate tarts, mini carrot cakes, and tiramisu verrine.

  • Savoury selections such as club sandwiches, mini beef burgers, vol-au-vent mushroom truffles, gravlax salmon canapes, and croque-monsieur.

Tea options vary from the nutty and sweet Darjeeling Okayti Estate to the fruity and sweet Eastern Beauty Oolong. You can also travel the world through your taste buds by sipping on the Kenya Nandi Hills Black Tea and the China Mao Jian Green Tea. Then, try the Mint Bergamot blend to refresh your palate.

To add some more spark to your high tea, try the sparkling wine or champagne selections by the glass, Palate's signature grapefruit, blueberry, and mint mimosa, or the signature peach, earl grey, and rose water mimosa, and the classic caesar or Van Gogh espresso martini cocktails.

Table reservations are highly recommended as high tea seatings are limited. You can reserve your table for an upcoming weekend high tea time at palatekitchen.com.
