Like never before, we are dreaming of a summer escape. As British Columbians are encouraged to stay within the province this season, this is the year for local travel. Lucky for us, B.C. has many incredible natural treasures just waiting to be explored.

Tofino is the top destination for those wanting to embark on a coastal Pacific Northwest adventure. Remote, yet accessible, and oh so beautiful to behold, this Vancouver Island district is the spot for surfing, storm watching, nature hikes, and wildlife sightings.

And whether you’re planning a weekend getaway for a week-long trip, Wickaninnish Inn is the perfect place to reserve your West Coast holiday.

As the sole property on Chesterman Beach, the family-owned oceanfront inn is in a prime location. Nestled between 100 acres of ancient rainforest and the Pacific Ocean, this seaside resort presents rustic elegance right on nature’s edge.

Between Wickaninnish’s two buildings - the Pointe and the Beach - the selection of accommodations are designed to provide a serene and safe sanctuary indoors amidst wilderness outdoors. Guests will enjoy sweeping panoramic views and attentive hospitality throughout their stay.

Perched atop the rocky headland at the north end of Chesterman Beach, the Pointe Building has an expansive view of the sea. With Deluxe rooms and corner Premier rooms facing south, west, and east, guests will be treated to different views in each direction, from the south-facing summer haze to the eastward vantage point for watching the surf as the tide rolls in and the waves crash. Just imagine watching the sea lions and seabirds pass while you cozy in with your morning cuppa, enjoy the breeze billowing by on your personal balcony.

Encircled by an old-growth forest and looking out towards the sea beyond, the Beach Building offers a variety of deluxe rooms and suites. The Canopy Suite, complete with a canopy-adorned king-size bed, features floor-to-ceiling windows stretched across the spacious living room area, with a full wet bar, fireplace, and private balcony. Traveling with family? Select suites have the convenience of connecting rooms to accommodate a comfortable gathering place for more loved ones.

The restaurant’s menus feature inventive contemporary Canadian dishes inspired by farm-fresh, local ingredients sourced from Vancouver Island and greater B.C., and complemented by a renowned wine selection.

During the current COVID-19 pandemic, The Pointe is seating guests in a way to optimize social distancing, as well as cleaning all table surfaces and arm chairs after each guest using their Viriditec Ozonated water system. Staff are also washing their hands before and after removing plates and cutlery from each table.
