On June 9, WestJet said it would be winding down Swoop's operations, citing fierce market competition. Existing Swoop flights and packages won't be affected by the announcement and customers may continue to book tickets. Swoop does not have any bookable flights beyond October 28, as the carrier hasn't published a schedule beyond that date.

The best deals to Mexico are the seven-night packages to Puerto Vallarta from YXX airport. The cheapest one includes a week's stay at the Blue Pepper Beds Sayulita (a hostel) in Sayulita from Sept. 20 to Sept. 27 for $586. There are also a few options in the $600 to $700 range.
Travellers who prefer to stay in Downtown Puerto Vallarta can stay for seven nights at the Hotel Suites La Siesta for $918 on the same dates.
