While the Philippines is one of the most popular travel destinations worldwide, it isn't one of the cheapest flights out of Vancouver.
For example, the cheapest flights departing Vancouver this June to Manila cost over $900 CAD return - and there are a number of return tickets selling for roughly $1400 or $1500 CAD. Of course, summer travel tends to cost a bit more, and budget-travellers who can wait for the fall season will save on the cost of return airfare. With that in mind, most of the cheapest tickets still cost around $700 or $800 CAD return - except for a few exceptionally low fares through China Southern airlines.
For example, this China Southern ticket departs this fall on October 14 and returns on Halloween, and offers roughly $200 CAD in savings off the average ticket price. The total price including all taxes and fees comes to $565.55 CAD. In addition, there is only one stopover in Guangzhou, China for approximately three hours in either direction.
