They say Paris is always a good idea, but Mexico certainly sounds like a sunnier one when Raincouver takes its final fall form (and we are getting a taste with this weekend's storm).
If you're looking to escape the dismal weather this autumn, several cities offer low-cost flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The airlines to look out for include Canada's low-cost carrier, Flair Airlines, and WestJet.
Have a look at some top deals departing in the next few months.
Puerto Vallarta
World-famous tequila, delectable Mexican cuisine, beautiful beaches, and beaming sunshine are just a few of the reasons why people flock to Puerto Vallarta in droves. And, while it can be fun just to kick back and relax at a resort, the city offers numerous things to see and do.
A flight departing on Monday, Oct. 27, from Vancouver and returning on Monday, Nov. 3, from Puerto Vallarta costs $331, booked directly through Flair Airlines (see slide two).
This price is considered "low" for economy or about $86 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights.
Cancun
Cancun offers heart-stopping beauty from its sun-soaked, white sandy shores to its lush jungles. Its crystal-clear waters are the perfect playground for a bounty of adrenaline-fuelled water sports, boating, and relaxing swims alike.
A flight departing Vancouver on Saturday, Oct. 18, and returning from Cancun on Sunday, Oct. 26 costs $290. The outbound trip is with WestJet, and the return is with Flair. To score the lowest price, the first ticket must be booked through a third party, while Flair's is direct (see slide three).
This price is considered "low" for economy or about $520 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights.
Mexico City
Flair Airlines is introducing a new non-stop service from YVR and Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Mexico City International Airport Benito Juárez (MEX), beginning in October.
The new service will revolutionize pricing on the route for Lower Mainland residents who want to fly direct to the Mexican capital without paying big bucks. Flair Airlines will also be Canada's first ultra-low-cost carrier to offer direct flights to Mexico City
For example, a flight departing Vancouver on Sunday, Nov. 2, and returning on Saturday, Nov. 8, would cost $407 booked directly through the airline.
Currently, only Air Canada and Aeromexico offer non-stop service to Mexico City from YVR. Aeromexico typically offers cheaper deals, with return trips starting under $700.
This price is considered "low" for economy or about $210 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights.
Flight prices may change quickly based on seat availability. If you want to secure a price, book the ticket right away (some airlines and travel suppliers allow you to hold seats, although you will need to confirm).
