Several vacation packages include stays at four and five-star Las Vegas resorts with direct return airfare to Vancouver (YVR) at a steal.

If you are looking to discover some of the best nightlife in the world, Las Vegas has just what the holiday doctor ordered.

While it's most widely known as a gambling mecca, Nevada's biggest city is home to a vast array of entertainment and dining options, welcoming some of the world's biggest performers to its stages year-round.

Tickets out of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) aren't very expensive, with return trips to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) with Flair Airlines totalling just over $150 return. But several vacation packages include stays at four and five-star resorts with direct return airfare at a steal.

Although its future is uncertain due to an impending WestJet acquisition, Sunwing currently offers some of the best deals on Las Vegas packages out of the Lower Mainland.

For example, two people can stay at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in a Deluxe Suite from Dec. 6 to 9 for $769, which breaks down to a per-person price of $384.50.

The room comes with one king bed as well as a mountain view. The prices increase for an extra bed or the luxury options.

Some of the cheaper options may involve hotels that are not located directly on the Las Vegas main strip. The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, for instance, is located about a five-minute drive or a 20-minute walk from the strip. This isn't extremely far away, but If you want to be in the heart of the action, opt for an accommodation that is located directly on the strip.

For this same time period, a stay at the Flamingo Las Vegas or the Linq Hotel & Experience is only a dollar more per person, at $384 and both of the venues are located directly on the strip. For a more luxurious stay, The Mirage Resort and Casino works out to $464 per person.

Discover Las Vegas

While it can be fun to explore the famous Las Vegas Strip after nightfall, there are still a number of fun things to do during the day. For example, there are a plethora of fun pool parties to attend, as well as places to shop, dine, and enjoy beverages.

In addition, Las Vegas offers some of the best entertainment in the world every night of the week. Whether you are looking to see a musical, a magic show, a band, or a DJ, Vegas has it all. The city also offers a number of fun things to try off the strip that includes everything from daytrips to the Grand Canyon to Old Las Vegas to ghost towns.
