Here's what May the Fourth looked like on Vancouver social media

As May the Fourth took over social media globally, local organizations got in on the fun.

As May the Fourth took over social media globally, local organizations got in on the fun.

From the province's ImmunizeBC program to forest moon at the Capilano Suspension Bridge to the Vancouver Police Department's forensics team, it seems Star Wars nerds everywhere got a hold of Twitter passwords. And in solidarity we're sharing some of them here:

For the record, that is an actual PSA from the 1970s.

The provincial NDP even got in on it; we'll let political scientists unpack these images.

For the record, we did check and neither the BC Liberals or Greens had anything up to celebrate such a hallowed occasion.

It wasn't just local organizations, some of the Vancouver Is Awesome staff shared in the sci-fi love.

Victoria's Royal B.C. Museum went big, too.

And we're sharing this just because the idea that light sabers should be used in a football game might just be the idea we've all been waiting for.

To finish things off here's hoping that Disney sees the value in combining these universes.
