Construction zone speeding cost this Metro Vancouver driver his Mercedes for a week

A Burnaby driver will be without his brand new Mercedes for a week after police caught him flying through a 30-km/h construction zone at 91 km/h.

Burnaby RCMP traffic services Const. Denis Arseneault was set up on Broadway between Gaglardi Way and North Road when the Mercedes blew past, according to police.

The man driving was fined $483 for excessive speeding and his vehicle was towed, police said.

During six hours of enforcement in the area, Arseneault ticketed 34 people for breaking the speed limit.
