A new clothing resale shop is launching in Vancouver this month to support a charity that empowers low-income and marginalized women to re-enter the workforce.

Turnabout, Vancouver’s largest luxury clothing resale company, has partnered with Dress for Success Vancouver to launch the new shop, called Turnabout Community, which will officially open March 10—to mark International Women’s Day.

Turnabout Community will feature donated clothing and accessories from all of Turnabout's shops and from Dress for Success donors. Up to 80 percent of the profits from the shop will go to Dress for Success for its programs which help low-income women throughout the Lower Mainland by offering professional attire, career services, and skills development programs at no cost.

Amy Robichaud, Dress for Success Vancouver Executive Director, said the charity is thrilled about the new venture because it would allow them to help more women.

“We served over twenty-five hundred women last year with programming that helped them develop skills and be ready for interviews, at no cost to them,” she said.

“But the need is much greater. This shop will help us grow stable funds so we can reach our goal of providing paths to dignity and economic inclusion for all women in our community.”

Joy Mauro, Turnabout president, said it has always been important to the company to support great causes, and the shop will be a great way to “give back to our community.”

“We hope this popular brand shop will provide ongoing and long-lasting support for Dress for Success Vancouver,” she said in a release.

Mauro said the resale shop is unique because it sets a new standard for clothing fundraising with curated, like-new, quality clothing from contemporary brands such as Aritzia, H&M, and Zara’s for re-sale at economical prices.

Turnabout Community will be located at 4180 Fraser Street.
