Vancouver's beautiful weather is forecast to remain for the week.

As we approach the longest day of the year, Vancouverites will get to enjoy lots of sun.

"It's very fair weather this week," Environment Canada meteorologist Jennifer Kowal tells Vancouver is Awesome.

While there'll be a mix of sun and cloud, days will be sunny on balance, and temperatures will be right around the normal of 20 C.

Monday, June 16, and Tuesday, June 17, will both see sunny skies with some cloud, says Kowal, as a ridge of high pressure south of Vancouver pushes any unstable weather around the southern coast.

Some showers are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but only about 2 or 3 mm is predicted to fall.

Skies will clear on Wednesday, revealing another day with a mix of sun and cloud. That'll be followed by another sunny day on Thursday, June 19.

The first four days of the work week are all expected to be around 19 C at the shore and up to 22 C inland.

"It's just going to be a nice week, enjoy it," says Kowal.

By Friday, June 20 (the longest day of the year), there may be a shift in the weather.

"We might see a bit of a pattern change late Friday and into Saturday," Kowal says.

A slight chance of showers is forecast, and highs may drop to 16 C for the weekend.
