August kicked off with temperatures trending above average following a rainstorm that drenched the B.C. south coast early this week.
V.I.A.'s Yaletown Weatherhood station shows a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 29 C and a low of 19 C on Friday, Aug. 3 (see slide two).
The warm, sunny weather is expected to continue through the BC Day holiday long weekend, with Saturday expected to see a high of 27 C and a low of 18 C. Sunday's forecast includes similar temperatures and a mix of sun and cloud.
Monday is expected to be the nicest day of the long weekend, with clear skies, bright sunshine, and temperatures climbing to 28 C.

The seven-day weather forecast includes more warm temperatures heading to next week. Tuesday and Wednesday are also expected to be mild with a mix of sun and cloud. However, Thursday may see a hint of showers.
A sturgeon supermoon will rise over the Lower Mainland this month, appearing bigger and brighter than most full moons.
August's full moon is also considered a "seasonal" blue moon, different from the monthly ones.
