Half price Hockey Rug In Canada

Ever since I first saw this rug in CBC's gift shop at 700 Hamilton Street months ago I've been waffling on it.

Ever since I first saw this rug in CBC's gift shop at 700 Hamilton Street months ago I've been waffling on it. I find myself in that building every few weeks and every time I'm there I duck into the gift shop, look at the rug, then grudgingly decide that I'm not getting it. The $40 price tag is plenty fair but after running it past my wife and getting the thumbs down to securing any piece of the floor in our home to rest it on, I haven't been able to justify the purchase. That is until earlier this week when I went in and saw it for $20. Twenty dollars! For a crazy sweet Hockey Night In Canada rug. I could not say no at that price, and so it is now sitting on the floor of the V.I.A. office here at 115 East Pender, where it will remain until I am wealthy enough to buy a home that has a "man room" complete with a dartboard, tools, stools, a bar with built in keg + tap (even though I don't drink) and whatever other stereotypical "guy" items I can imagine into it.

Normally we don't do "Hey! Buy this!" posts, in fact we rarely do posts about business at all as we are arts and culture focused, but CBC is our national broadcaster. We as Canadians own it and hockey is a large part of the culture in this city of ours. So we're basically encouraging you to go buy this $20 Hockey Night In Canada rug off of yourself. You'll thank yourself for it later. Oh, and they also have the old school design with the light blue and the hockey stick. 20 bucks!
