This might be the best thing since street mole! Because of Vancouver's close proximity to the great outdoors, everyday it's pretty common to see some sort of wildlife whether it's raccoons, squirrels, skunks, but what you don't expect to see is something like this!
Much like that day way back, when I came across these, once again I was madly cutting through some east side neighbourhood, typically a very poor idea. Suddenly, 'What the??'
I'd like to introduce you to Drayga, a Sulcata Tortoise. This type of tortoise is also known as the Africa spurred tortoise, and is the third largest tortoise in the world. Right now she's 30 pounds, but she could get up to between 100-200 lbs! After the shock wore off, I got down and petted her, she's a real sweetheart. I couldn't help but ask the owner, what he was going to do with her if she got to be 200 lbs.....
'Give up the garage I guess.....'
