Uniqlo is opening a store in Coquitlam Centre this fall

Japanese clothing retailer Uniqlo has announced that it will open a fourth location in British Columbia at Coquitlam Centre this fall.

The new Uniqlo and will occupy more than 12,000 square feet of sales floor on level two at the mall, located at 2929 Barnet Highway in Coquitlam.

All of the brand's LifeWear signature collections including AIRism, HEATTECH, Cashmere and Ultra Light Down, premium Jeans and UT will be offered in the Coquitlam store.

"We're happy to be bringing LifeWear, thoughtfully created to make everyday life better and more comfortable, to so many new people in Canada," says Yasuhiro Hayashi, CEO of UNIQLO Canada in a release.

The company opened its first retail store in Hiroshima, Japan in 1984 and expanded to Canada in the fall of 2016 by opening two stores in Toronto's Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

Uniqlo opened its first Western Canada location in October, 2017 and hundreds of people lined up at Burnaby’s Metropolis at Metrotown hours beforehand to be one of the first to get a look inside the new store.

The clothing retailer later opened stores in Surrey's Guildford Town Centre and Richmond Centre in the spring.

A specific date for the Coquitlam store opening has not yet been announced.
