VIDEO: Watch 200 dolphins swim alongside ferry headed to Vancouver

Fewer things brighten up a ferry ride to or from the Lower Mainland than when some friends in the ocean seem to take the trip with you. Such was the case this week when a man taking the ferry to Horseshoe Bay captured a pod of 200 dolphins swimming alongside the boat.

Fewer things brighten up a ferry ride to or from the Lower Mainland than when some friends in the ocean seem to take the trip with you. Such was the case this week when a man taking the ferry to Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver captured a pod of 200 dolphins swimming alongside a B.C. Ferries vessel.

"Escorted by 200 dolphins on the 8:25 am BC Ferry to Horseshoe Bay on my way to Rogers Arena. Wow!" captions Henry Irizawa on his Facebook post of the awe-inspiring video.

Check out the incredible footage:

Irizawa, of Comox, told CTV News that he could tell the dolphins were having lots of fun and were full of joy. He and his fellow passengers had been alerted to the presence of the dolphins by the captain, who had shared with folks on board that a couple hundred of the mammals were frolicking next to the boat.

Other passengers took to social media to share what they saw on Tuesday with Irizawa, as well as those who'd seen the dolphins the day before, too:
