This 'extreme' beer fest will celebrate the dark brews of winter

Beer fans find brews to love all year 'round, and the winter months are ideal for enjoying darker, heartier styles of beer. To celebrate stouts and toast to barleywine, there's an "extreme" beer fest slated to take place in Vancouver in January 2019.

Weathered is described as a "curated beer and art event," all about "the extreme end of the spectrum" that will find attendees raising a few sample glasses to the finest flavours of the season.

Organizers promise that even though "this is winter, and focus will be on the darkness," you'll still find a few nods to sunnier days with the inclusion of some farmhouse ales.

The event space at Heritage Hall is organized into four main bars (The Imperials Bar, The Gueuze & Friends Bar, The Hops Bar, and The Magnum Bottle Bar), and both sessions will offer the same pour list.

For the art end of things, expect to see projected videos and visuals related to the beers and breweries, as well as displayed pieces of art.

Participating breweries include popular Metro Vancouver outfits like Luppolo, Twin Sails, Dageraad, Steel & Oak, Strange Fellows, Brassneck, East Van, and the Growler Award-winning Four Winds, along with numerous other B.C. and American brewers. Weathered says they'll publish a pour list closer to the event day.
