With the Vancouver weather forecast calling for a week of rain, a sunny holiday in Mexico might sound like exactly what the doctor ordered.

With that in mind, not all flights to Puerto Vallarta are inexpensive. In fact, most flights during January start at roughly $400 CAD and include a stopover. And, if you are looking for a nonstop flight, the price shoots up to $550 CAD return and up.

Luckily, WestJet’s discount carrier, Swoop, offers some extremely low prices for direct flights to Puerto Vallarta this winter. For example, the flight below offers nonstop service between Abbotsford and Puerto Vallarta for $324.54 CAD return. The flight departs on Monday, January 12 and returns on Monday, January 21.

Fly Swoop to Mexico

Earlier this year, WestJet’s discount carrier announced that they would offer discount service between Metro Vancouver and Mexico. With that being said, these fares are markedly lower than their usual prices. Further, they are at least $100 CAD lower than those offered by competitors, and they do not require a stopover.

While Mexico is on sale, Swoop is also offering a number of deals on other hot destinations. For example, you can fly from Abbotsford to Las Vegas return for only $175.30 CAD including tax on right now, too. The carrier also offers great deals to Edmonton, Puerto Vallarta and Hamilton.

Note: While the low-cost carrier is an extremely affordable alternative, it is worthwhile to note that there are a number of additional costs. For one, luggage will cost extra, as will selecting your own seat or even speaking to an operator. As such, it is important to factor in what you need to bring, or if you want to sit in a particular spot prior to making a purchase.
