Heads up if you were headed out to do some exploring in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park: Due to "EXTREME BEAR ACTIVITY" two trails are now closed.

The warning was issued Thursday morning by Metro Vancouver Regional Parks, and affects the Varley Trail and the Connector Trail. And, yes, the warning included "extreme bear activity" in all caps.

Much like some of Metro Vancouver Regional Parks' sassy Facebook commenters, we too can't help but wonder what "extreme" activities bears might get up to: skateboarding? BMX biking?

Actually, it is quite serious, as Metro Vancouver Regional Parks explains: "Extreme bear activity means a bear that exhibits aggressive behaviour towards people."

There are also concerns the bear in question is the same one that killed a dog in the area.

Officials affirm those fears: "It does seem to be the same bear. The Conservation Officers will recommend a plan of action once they’ve fully assessed the situation."

Additionally, a bear alert remains in place for the Lynn Loop Trail.
