Meet the Samurai Ninja Attack Cat, Rupert, sent in by VIA readers Saskia and Gary. Here's what they say about Rupert:

Nicknames: Samurai Ninja Attack Cat, Poopert, Rue, Roopie, and My Great Silver Tiger.

Breed/Colouring: Silver Tabby

Hood: Formerly homeless as a young kitten, Rupert was fostered and then adopted from the Vancouver SPCA. He took very well to his new home in East Vancouver, and believes he will be an East Side Kitty for life. He lives in his house between Commercial Drive and Nanaimo Street, and although only eats organic dried wild salmon and wheat free cat food, he swears he is not a hippie.

Habits: Lurking. Scratching. Sleeping. Lulling humans into a sense of complacency and then viciously attacking them. He particularly enjoys doing this to renovation contractors or new, unsuspecting house guests. Rupert's greatest joys include attacking feet in the middle of the night, screaming at other neighborhood cats in his yard ("That's MY yard!") and bleating loudly from the windowsill at the birds at dawn. Rupert also enjoys snuggling when it is inconvenient for humans, but they sit there and feel privileged that he has graced them with his loving presence. He consistently refuses to drink from anything but a cup in the kitchen sink, and frequently enjoys running back and forth on the hardwood floors in the middle of the night chasing invisible targets.

However, Rupert gets away with all of these bad habits because he is beautiful, charming and extremely personable. He never bites or attacks children (discriminating tastes) and he lets his human brush him and clip his nails. He loves to lay on you with his arms on either side of your neck (Cat Hug!) and nuzzle your face.

Hangouts: Windowsills, clean clothes, the back of his man-human's closet, and curled up in the throw blankets on the sofa. He also loves to sleep on his lady-human's yoga shorts and towels when she sets them out the night before to coat them in cat hair, and his mission in life is to hang out in the basement where he is not allowed to go. If you cannot find Rupert, he has most likely jiggled the door open and found his way into the basement.

Other info: Rupert hopes you like him, and wants to share his story with everyone who thinks Vancouver is Awesome like he does.
