A few years back the internet in Vancouver almost broke when a black bear made its way into the downtown core, hitching a ride in a truck, being caught, then released back into the wilderness where he belonged ( LINK ).

Earlier today a pod of killer whales were spotted near the Lions Gate Bridge making their way towards Deep Cove where it's expected they'd be hunting for seals (!!!).

Every year after the holidays the SPCA and other organizations see a spike in the volume of pets that people surrender to them.
