VANCOUVER — The number of inmates who have tested positive for COVID-19 at a B.C. prison has nearly doubled in a day as unions urge correctional officers to protect themselves.

Public health researcher Dr. Kelley Lee of Simon Fraser University said while there may be some justification to delaying the tax, a more urgent priority should nevertheless be expansion of the government’s smoking cessation program.

Canada as a whole lost 1,011,000 jobs, driving the unemployment rate up 2.2 percentage points to reach 7.8%.

The BCSC stated that investors should “exercise caution when considering aggressive promotions as a basis for investment decisions as these promotions may make false claims of large profits. At this time, there is no vaccine or any health product that is authorized to treat or protect against COVID-19.”

Eligible households with no dependents will be provided $300 per month while those with dependents will get $500 per month.
