No matter what side of the bike lane youre on, cycling is a fun way to explore the city. If youre new to cycling, or want to find new ways to kick into gear, Velopalooza is offering two weeks of rides, workshops and socializing. There are 64 events from July 27 to August 11 and, not surprisingly, a lot of them include food, beer and wine. There are donut rides and pie rides for foodies; choral rides for singers; Gears and Queers night for Pride partiers; and a city lights ride for night owls. We are super intrigued by the Emperors New Clothes Ride, because didnt the emperor discover he wasnt wearing anything at all? For those who want to spend more time in the saddle, there are tours of Steveston and beyond and a leisurely Sunday afternoon ride. Take your pick at Velopalooza.ca.
