Hillcrest Centre opens

Aquarium monkey a mother

The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre's female Goeldi's monkey Ginger gave birth to a healthy newborn Oct. 23. Ginger and the baby are doing well and slowly bonding, according to Dr. Dennis Thoney, director of Animal Operations.

Dentist to buy back candy

Oakridge dentist Wilson Kwong is putting a call out for children to bring their Halloween candy to his office in exchange for cold, hard cash. Dr. Kwong will pay kids $1 per pound of candy brought into his office between Nov. 1 and 8.
