To the editor: Re: "Thin streets idea hits hardworking homeowners," Letters, Aug. 15. I think it was inappropriate for you to have printed this letter from Rick Angus.

It sounded like a juicy city scandal, but in the end it was something worse. My often outraged friend the Old Leftist called me recently from his mountain cabin, High Dudgeon.

Re: "Remaining tenants at Little Mountain told to move," Aug. 1. The issue here is the spirit of the community. The dwellings proposed do not accommodate the living arrangement of the present habitants.

To the editor: Why do the countries seize the glory when an individual athlete wins a medal? Let us celebrate the accomplishments of the individual and refer to Canadians winning medals not Canada.

The London 2012 Olympics are over and I'm in the throes of withdrawal. The Games were my constant companion in the newsroom for two weeks and while I thrilled at the athletic achievements, I also delighted at the eye candy on the screen.

Re: "Hold the bananaphone," Central Park, Aug. 8. The media would do well to tell this story with a bit less melodrama and a lot more truth.
