4TH ANNUAL MOVEMBER MO-OFF RETURNS TO OFF YOUR MO'S
The Movember Mo-Off is returning again this year - supporting Movember and raising awareness and funds for men’s health and prostate cancer. Returning to the Biltmore Cabaret for a night of music, moustaches, prizes and good times with musical guests: The River and the Road, Rolla Olak, and organizer Savannah Wellman's band Redbird.
The “Mo-Off” has 2 elements: first, a contest for best moustache, as nominated by the ladies in attendance and voted on by the audience. Second: The Mo's are Offed. A barber station will be set up to trim or shave those gentlemen who wish to part with their lip neighbours. Prizes for best 'stash include a pair of Dayton Boots, a proper shave and haircut from JD's Barbershop, eats from the Cannibal Cafe, concert tickets courtesy of the Georgia Straight and more.
Once again there will be a photo booth to to document the before and afters (by me, Christine McAvoy!), and a photo booth with props and fake mo's courtesy of Love Tree Photography. Plus, the first 50 attendees to arrive will receive a complementary Steam Whistle beer!
The night will also be the debut of the fundraising calendar "Dudes with Beards and Boards and Dogs", with proceeds being split between Movember Canada and the Vancouver SPCA. Featured dudes include Victoria musician Vince Vaccaro, and Vancouver's Ben Worcester from indie-pop favourites Said the Whale. (Can't make the show? Pre-order your copy online!)
