Vancouver will host Canada's largest Brazilian cultural festival this year on Aug. 29 and 30, 2025.

After a couple of years on hiatus, Vancouver's Brazilian Day festival is coming back bigger than ever.

In fact, organizers expect it to be the biggest Brazilian cultural festival in Canada.

"Brazilian Day Vancouver 2025 takes place on August 29 and 30 at the Plaza of Nations Parking Lot (next to Science World) and promises two days of music, culture, gastronomy, and immersive experiences that will transport the public directly to Brazil," reads a press release.

Thousands have attended the annual event in previous years. In 2023 changes were planned, but the event was cancelled as it became too complex. However, the organizer (the Brazilian consulate) planned to return with a bigger festival.

Now it's back with two days of events and activities.

On Friday, Aug. 29, É o Tchan will take the stage. Led by Beto Jamaica and Compadre Washington, the Brazilian group saw plenty of success in the 1990s, with millions of albums sold.

On Saturday, Aug. 30, there will be a full day of activities, food, performances and more, including a marketplace and cultural experience area.

Look for BC Place to be illuminated in the colours of the Brazilian flag (green, yellow, and blue) marking the festival days in Vancouver.
