The Chilliwack Sunflower Festival returns to the Fraser Valley this August offering over five acres of soaring, golden sunflowers.

Following its inaugural season, the festival runs toward the end of summer and showcases over 17 varieties of sunflowers in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colours. What's more, over three acres of the property are teeming with mammoth sunflowers that stand over 12 feet tall.

The festival begins on Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. and remains open daily until Sept. 15.

One-and-a-half acres are planted in a beautiful cut flower orange variety which will reach heights between five and six feet tall. In addition, one acre is a show garden that offers 15 varieties in different heights, colours and bloom size.

This year, the festival includes a separate 'u-pick field' where guests may select their own soaring stalks to take home. Similarly, the flower shop offers fresh-cut sunflowers, potted sunflowers, and tulip/daffodil bulbs that visitors may take with them.

There are also a multitude of fantastic places for photo opportunities, which include three swing sets, the working mill, and the famous "tulip bike." Food trucks are available on-site on the weekends for when hunger strikes, and there are covered areas to enjoy delectable ice cream and cold beverages.
