The final show in the Cultural Olympiad CODE Live Night Life series (which featured everyone from Mike Relm and Kid Koala to Junior Boys and Deadbeat), the world's most famous Jewish/Palestinian bugaloo boys, Montreal's Chromeo did the Vancouver crowd up on Saturday night as they always do when the come to town. They are working on the next album but performed the first single off that in the show, Night by Night. Is it pretty customary for acts not to perform remixes they've done? Cuz I was totally hopin they'd play their Cross the Dance Floor remix, one of their illest songs. Anyhow, rounding out the all-star all Canadian lineup were Vancity's own Love & Electrik and the Team Canada DJs from the east. The Centre for Digital Media / Great Northern Way Campus is also a very welcome addition to our live venue scene. It featured a slick backside lounge and they hosted the New Forms Festival this past summer. More pics on the venue to follow.
