Creative Mornings

Have you made it out to Creative Mornings Vancouver yet? It's a free monthly lecture series where 150 people are treated to breakfast at W2 followed by a 20 minute talk by someone creative working in Vancouver. The twist is that after the talk the audience is encouraged to break out into groups, talk about what they've just been presented with and then engage the speaker with questions. It's a great way to start off the day and I've been trying my best to attend each and every one (stick close to the computer the days they release staggered batches of free tickets and you can too).

Started in New York, Creative Mornings is a global happening that now goes down in 16 other cities around the globe. It's spearheaded locally by Mark Busse along with a team of volunteers.

Kicking things off was Stewart Butterfield, co-founder of Flickr and more recently an online game called Glitch that you may have heard of. Mark and his team have been putting out videos of each talk so if you miss out you can catch up later. Here's Stewart's:

The next one I went to was Ian Grais from Rethink who gave a talk on his agency, his process and some tips for creatives. Full video:

Next up was Vancouver's Most Awesome alumnus, Bif Naked!

Unfortunately I missed out on Alex Beim's talk, but here's the video:

Last week my friend, Amanda Gibbs, did a Creative Mornings talk and I was so bummed to have missed it. The video is going to be up in the next week and I'll post it when it is. Meantime, enjoy these and watch Creative Mornings Vancouver on Facebook for updates on upcoming talks as well as videos of the ones you might have missed.
