A new hookup between former 1Luv bandmates, Amalia Townsend (now based in Stockholm) and Dr. J, Cutty Lark has released its lead 7" single Get Caught on Do Right Music. Townsend's crazy vocals on this track have already been compared to Betty Davis. And while I've heard much of Amalia's and Dr. J's past music (including 1Luv), this track may be their best work yet. Having a lot of Amy Winehouse and Sharon Jones as steady plays in my stereos for a while, this track adds something fresh to the old school soul sound. With the two "relocating and starting from scratch," the project will be the work in project kind but they hope to have a full LP out in 2011.
