Every day we share a single photo from our Flickr Pool shot by one of our faithful and talented readers (that’s you!).
Ah, the Pacific National Exhibition. As someone who has lived their whole life in the Lower Mainland, I try to visit the PNE once every summer, although the days of all-day ride passes are more or less behind me. But so many good times are to be had there; first dates, puppy love, the first place you barfed on a complete stranger - or conversely, perhaps the first place you were barfed upon by a stranger. Nowadays, I just make a beeline for the mini-donuts and soak up the atmosphere - and try not to get barfed upon.
Alas, the PNE remains dormant for a while yet. But even when the place is empty it can still be visually appealing. th0rium knows this, and applied this principle in the visually appealing photograph Ferris Wheel below.
Since this was scanned from film I can't be certain how recent this shot is, but it looks like it could be. I particularly like the look of the super-wide lens and the low camera position.
And come to think of it, I don't think I've ever ridden the ferris wheel.
