Some pretty decent weather in Vancouver the last couple of days, and with it some really incredible light. Photographically speaking, these are exciting times indeed - I know I was getting a little tired of shooting nothing but night shots. But getting back to the topic at hand: that light. Victoria Ronco made excellent use of it recently in New Westminster, using it to carve out and reveal the rich texture in the Front Street side of the Dupont Block (642 Columbia Street). That's a 112 year old wall, almost an archaeological study of brick and paint. Victoria has titled it Illusion Walls.

Kind of looks like the light that Edward Hopper liked too.
