Every day we share a single photo from our Flickr Pool shot by one of our faithful and talented readers (that’s you!)
I stumbled by an interesting photograph by jaretron in the pool today. One part MC Escher, one part mobius strip, and one part vertigo-inducing perspective, the repeated forms were simply too much for me too pass up. I'm actually surprised that there isn't a pile of broken cameras and/or phones at the bottom of this staircase.
Interestingly, jaretron indicates that this photo was taken in the new Robert H.N. Ho Research Centre, a state-of-the-art medical research facility operated by Vancouver Coastal Health which just recently opened - on September 15th of this year. The building is home to three health research programs: the Centre for Hip Health and Mobility; the Ovarian Cancer Research Program, and an expansion of the Vancouver Prostate Centre. The building is named after Robert H. N. Ho, who donated $15 million to the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation to support health research and care.
The building is so new, in fact, that if you look closely you can see what looks like left-over painter's tape in the lower left-hand corner of the frame. That is, if you can take your eyes off of all those yellow squares.
