American alt-metal heavyweights Deftones are coming to Vancouver this week, and they're going to have cause to celebrate.
They'll be releasing their 10th studio album on Aug. 22, the same day they perform at Rogers Arena.
Founded in 1988, Deftones released their first album in 1995 and have been a major influence in alt-metal for decades.
In the early 2000s they found widespread success with the album White Pony, which won them a Grammy. In 2022, they were part of a second Grammy, after Linkin Park frontman Mike Shinoda remixed their 2000 song "Passenger."
Opening for Deftones are alt-rock duo Phantogram and metal act The Barbarians of California.
The show is expected to start at 7 p.m.
Tickets
There are some standard tickets still available for the show; it appears new tickets may have been released to the sides of the stage. A handful of tickets are now available for $92.25 (after fees) in the upper bowl.
Otherwise, it's mostly resale tickets that are available, with a wide range in prices as the concert has mostly sold out. Floor tickets currently start at $286 (there are no seats and a mosh pit seems likely at some point).
Transportation on concert night
TransLink doesn't have any significant alerts issued for the SkyTrain or SeaBus on Friday night at the time of publishing.
Hullo does have a late-night sailing leaving at 11:59 p.m. from Vancouver Harbour and headed to Vancouver Island, but it has already sold out.
Restrictions
A few things aren't allowed in Rogers Arena for the show. Notably, some bags won't be permitted; all bags need to be under 35.5 cm by 35.5 cm by 15.2 cm. For reference, 35.5 cm is just a bit over 13 inches.
Rogers Arena is also a smoke-free zone, as far as cigarettes and cannabis are concerned. The band may have smoke machines.
Other common-sense items, like skateboards, selfie sticks and outside food and drinks, should be left at home.

Concert-goers can text their issue and their location (their section, row, and seat number) and get help.
